While I paint I am reminded of all the hours I spent as a child alone in nature. The shear beauty of the many lakes the water, the waves, the wind in my hair. It was a sense of inner peace and meditation of sorts. The wind is in my face it clears my mind and blows my worries away.

 

I also spent a lot of time in the forests among the trees, I’m sure I hugged the trees and they hugged me back in my imagination, they held me up and supported my beliefs. They believed me when no others would.

 

I’d pick rocks and look for the most beautiful and often they would be beneath the water when they where best shinning in the sunlight. They would tell me their colour stories of their struggles but would always reassure me that everything would be just fine. They kept me grounded.

 

Animals would visit me often, the wolf, the bear, the beaver, the weasel, the rabbit, the snake, the crow, the hawk, the coyote, the deer. Not in a dream or an apprehension. In real time. I have come face to face and even eye to eye with many of these creatures. They kept my curiosity for life and pushed my fears away to create new, life long adventures.

 

The sun of the south gave growth into my talents, watching and winning accolades from it. When it was time to come home I couldn’t just let it simmer I had to let it all come out on canvas.

 

My drive to create is deep within me. As it bubbles and brews in me it peculates to the top to spill out my hands and onto the canvas.
